Email Issues

ITS has received reports of email issues including scan-to-email, mailing lists, and inbound mail from external sources.

ITS received reports beginning at 10:00 am of issues with Scan-to-Email and inbound email from external sources. Additional reports of issues sending to some campus mailing lists have been reported. The issue is under investigation and we will post updates.


Impacted services for email clients connecting to include but are not limited to:

  • Inability to use the scan-to-email function on scanners.
  • UNIX mailing list recipients are not currently receiving email sent to them.
  • UNIX mail users (Squirrel Mail from cannot receive or send mail. There is no error indicating these issues.

Internal mail using Exchange via the Outlook client or is not impacted.

Email Time Stamps

Emails have started flowing again. Please note that time stamps will reflect the time the email is received to your inbox, and not necessarily when it was sent.

Canvas Communications

Emails sent from within Canvas are also impacted by this email outage.

Project Submission System Confirmations

Notifications from the project submission system were impacted by this email issue. The submission system itself is functioning, and projects are being submitting successfully. Confirmations will be delivered once email is flowing again.
